Raffaella and John Belanich with Garrick Ohlsson
La Jolla Music Society introduced “The Belanich Steinway” – it’s very own concert grand piano, courtesy of Raffaella and John Belanich, on February 12, 2008 at the MCASD Sherwood Auditorium. President & Artistic Director Christopher Beach, accompanied by piano technician G. Earl Kallberg, and famed pianist Garrick Ohlsson, traveled to New York to personally select the instrument.
The Belanich Steinway, a Concert Grand Model D, can be heard on all Frieman Family Piano Series performances. In its inaugural season Emanuel Ax, Yundi Li and Garrick Ohlsson performed recitals with it.
