From chamber music to western symphonic repertoire, music and musicians from around the globe have been influenced by Chinese culture. Internationally-renowned pipa virtuoso Wu Man has played a pivotal role in introducing this ancient Chinese instrument and its repertoire to Western audiences while also defining a new role for it in today's music. Following a discussion with Wu Man, Perfect Storm, a unique duo comprised of accordion and erhu from the Beijing Conservatory, the Hausmann Quartet and cellist Eric han will perform a selection of works including Chen Yi's Fiddle Suite for Erhu and String Quartet to Bright Sheng's Seven Tunes Heard in China.
