Mornings with Master Teachers and Fellowship Artists

Each year, SummerFest invites several conservatory students to
participate in this intensive series of master classes conducted by
senior artists from the SummerFest roster. The students are in
residence for the entire festival participating in three weeks of
classes which culminate in a performance during SummerFest. The
training they receive in this intense atmosphere contributes to their
growth as the next generation of celebrated musicians.
During SummerFest 2010, audiences are invited to follow the artistic
growth of this year’s Fellowship Artists – Hausmann Quartet: Isaac Allen and Bram Goldstein, violins; Angela Choong, viola; Yuan Zhang,
cello and the Fellowship Artist Trio: David Coucheron, violin; Eric Han, cello; Julie Coucheron; piano. The artists will receive mentoring
and coaching throughout the festival.
SummerFest performers will also coach young local musicians from the San Diego
Youth Symphony and Conservatory. La Jolla Music Society maintains an active partnership with the
San Diego Youth Symphony to support student musicians in the San Diego area.
