Yuja Wang, piano
Twenty-six year old pianist Yuja Wang is widely recognized as one of the most important artists of her generation. Regularly lauded for her controlled,
prodigious technique, Ms. Wang has been praised for her authority over the most complex technical demands of the repertoire, the depth of her musical
insight, as well as her fresh interpretations and charismatic stage presence.
Ms. Wang has performed with many of the world’s prestigious orchestras including those of Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, and abroad with the Berlin
Staatskapelle, Israel and London Philharmonics and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Conductors with whom she has collaborated include
Gustavo Dudamel, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta. Ms. Wang regularly gives recitals throughout Asia, Europe and North America, and as a dedicated performer of
chamber music - appears at summer chamber music festivals, including an annual appearance at Switzerland's Verbier Festival.
Ms. Wang studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing with Ling Yuan and Zhou Guangren, the Mount Royal Conservatory in Calgary with Hung-Kuan
Chen and Tema Blackstone, and the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Gary Graffman. In 2006 she received the Gilmore Young Artist Award, and in
2010 she received the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Ms. Wang is a Steinway Artist.
