Since moving to the United States from China in 1990, pipa virtuoso Wu Man has introduced the traditional Chinese instrument and its repertoire to Western audiences. She continually collaborates with some of the most distinguished musicians and conductors performing today including Yo-Yo Ma, David Zinman, Yuri Bashmet, Cho-Liang Lin, Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Kronos Quartet. Her performances in the 2009-10 concert season brought her to Carnegie Hall, the Orange County Performing Arts Society, Moscow, Taipei and on tour with the Silk Road Ensemble throughout Europe and Asia.

Wu Man has performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group, New York Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. She currently lives in Carlsbad.
