Michelle Mi-Kyung Kim joined the New York Philharmonic as Assistant
Concertmaster in 2001. Prior to that appointment, she had often
appeared as a soloist with such orchestras as the Los Angeles
Philharmonic, and had been first violinist of the Rossetti String
Quartet since 1999. A student of Robert Lipsett, Ms. Kim attended the
University of Southern California; in 1991, she was named a
Presidential Scholar and performed in recital at the Kennedy Center.
Since 1996, Ms. Kim has served on the faculties of the University of
Southern California and the Colburn School of Performing Arts.
