The Head of Strings at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since 1996, Michael Ma appears frequently as a soloist and has held the position of concertmaster with many orchestras around the world. Upon graduating from the Curtis Institute and the New School of Music, he founded the New Art String Quartet, which toured throughout Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East. Mr. Ma has been invited to serve on the jury panel at such distinguished competitions as the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
