Internationally acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker appeared this season as soloist with the NHK Orchestra in Tokyo and toured Canada with Pinchas Zukerman and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. A versatile performer, he has collaborated with artists ranging from Joshua Bell to Robert McFerrin. He performed and spoke alongside former President George H.W. Bush at the 50th Anniversary of AmeriCares in war-torn Sarajevo. Mr. Parker was awarded his country‘s highest honor, the Order of Canada, in 1999. A committed educator, Jon Kimura Parker is Professor of Piano at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and has given master classes around the country. Mr. Parker holds a doctorate from The Juilliard School.
