Internationally acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker appeared this season as soloist with the NHK Orchestra in Tokyo and toured Canada with Pinchas Zukerman and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. A versatile performer, he has collaborated with artists ranging from Joshua Bell to Robert McFerrin. He performed and spoke alongside former President George H.W. Bush at the 50^th Anniversary of AmeriCares in war-torn Sarajevo. Mr. Parker was awarded his country‘s highest honor, the Order of Canada, in 1999. A committed educator, Jon Kimura Parker is Professor of Piano at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and has given master classes around the country. Mr. Parker holds a doctorate from The Juilliard School.
