Since the Hausmann Quartet’s formation in the summer of 2004, they have been praised for their charismatic playing and marvelously rich tone. The Quartet has served as the Norfolk Festival’s Quartet Fellows in Residence and made festival debuts at both the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival and Music@Menlo. They attended Aspen Music Festival’s Center for Advanced Quartet Studies and have worked closely with the Emerson and Juilliard Quartets. They have been featured on Performance Today, Aspen Public Radio, and have collaborated with chamber musicians including Ani Kavafian, Jeremy Denk, Kim Kashkashian, Paul Katz and Joseph Silverstein.

The Hausmann Quartet has completed graduate residencies at Kent State University as teaching assistants to the Miami String Quartet and with the Alexander String Quartet at the International Center for the Arts, San Francisco State University. Beginning in the 2010-11 season, the Hausmann Quartet will be the Joseph Fisch/Joyce Axelrod String Quartet in Residence at San Diego State University.
