Elzbieta Weyman, viola (Sonora String Quartet)

Elzbieta Weyman began studying violin at age four and switched to viola at thirteen, studying with Boston Symphony member Michael Zaretsky. In 2006 she was invited to participate in the Saito Kinen Festival in Japan under the direction of Seiji Ozawa. In 2007 she won the low strings concerto competition at the Aspen Music Festival and performed Walton's Viola Concerto with Leonard Slatkin conducting. Ms. Weyman is a third year undergraduate student at the Juilliard School studying with Masao Kawasaki.
