Cynthia Phelps is Principal Violist of the New York Philharmonic, with
which she has appeared as soloist in major international concert halls.
Ms. Phelps has collaborated with such artists as Isaac Stern, Itzhak
Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma., and has been featured in several nationwide
"Live from Lincoln Center" telecasts with the Philharmonic and Chamber
Music Society of Lincoln Center. Ms. Phelps is a frequent visitor to La
Jolla Music Society SummerFest, Chamber Music Northwest and the Santa
Fe Chamber Music Festival. She was the first prize winner at both the
Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Washington
International String Competition.
