Catherine Ransom Karoly joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic as Second Flutist in 1996, and in 2009 was appointed Associate Principal Flute. In October of 2000, she made her solo debut with Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the LA Philharmonic in Ibert‘s Flute Concerto. Ms. Karoly has participated in numerous music festivals including Marlboro, Tanglewood and La Jolla Music Society‘s SummerFest. Ms. Karoly received a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a recipient of a Fulbright Grant.
